Susan is a longstanding faculty member of the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills course and is a member of the New Zealand Law Society Disciplinary Tribunal.

She has held various appointments beyond the law, most recently she was a Director of Civil Aviation from 2004 to 2011 and she is currently a member of the New Zealand Medical Council and a trustee of the Len Lye Foundation.
